Wudda you guys think of Coldplay's new album?

as a non cold play fan i’m pretty curious if this one’s gonna sound like the X&Y one (i really didn’t like it, way too mediocre…) or if they’ll make it a little more…solid

It’s ok, but I find it is very instrumental and not quite as varied as some of their previous works, I much prefer the guitar or piano centric tracks from Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head. Everything on this album seems sort of dull and muted and more ‘wishy-washy’ sounding. However, I have only listened to it through about 2 times so my opinion will no doubt change as I get to know the tracks a bit better. I like Violet Hill for its rhythm, which is not quite as pronounced in most other tracks.

Has it been released already? I didn’t really used to be a Coldplay fan (I kinda liked Talk and Clocks and that was about it) but when I recently heard Violet Hill and later Viva la Vida I got interested.

I have only heard the radio singles. I want to hear the whole thing. Hopefully it is better than X&Y. That one was decent but wasn’t as good as some of their older stuff. A Rush Of Blood was really great album.

Truthfully, I downloaded it because I saw the ipod commercial and liked Viva la Vida (the song). After hearing it, I also enjoy the song Violet Hill, but other than that it doesn’t really tickle my fancy.

I didn’t like it. It simply didn’t have the same old coldplay vibe to it. It sounded more like a cross between coldplay and radiohead

I liked it considering I’ve never really listened to their music much before, maybe their popular ones. Going to see them live at the end of the year, will be awesome, I hope.

I am actually seeing them live tomorrow. They are performing at the Daily Show tomorrow and I got free audience tickets to the Daily Show because I worked as a design consultant for their website.

I love it. I’m not a huge coldplay fan, but I like them. The new album is a little different for them, but I like the direction. They are showing diversity and I’m impressed.

I purchased it the day it was released. I find Coldplay a very interesting band.
