Someone told me that very soon Apple will be releasing an Aluminum MacBook. Do you know if this is true?

Is this rumor true? If so what do you think the price will e? Should I wait to get my MacBook or get it now???

Some people here think it might be.

Apple does not typically announce/discuss future product plans (iPhone 3G is notable exception).

The only sure-fire way to know anything like this is to wait for Apple to actually make the formal announcement. Anything less is just guesswork.

The Macrumors web site has your aluminum MacBook rumor dated back in May. That seems to be the latest reference I can find (with admittedly little digging).

I wouldn’t bet money on it one way or the other.

Oh, and as to whether or not to buy one now, Macrumors rates this as a Neutral time to buy.

The MacBook is currently 123 days into its current cycle, with updates coming on average every 192 days.

How many times are you going to link that video?

Hmmm… How many times do I have to link it?

Yes I saw that page (http://buyersguide.macrumors.com). I was just wondering since that is a rumor.

Everything before a formal release by Apple is just guesswork or speculation.
I think yes, it is probably safe to assume that Apple will eventually release a new MacBook to fit the aluminium theme of the latest iMacs and MacBook Pros.

However, the MacBook has always provided a very family-friendly style of marketing, and perhaps the aluminium design wouldn’t match it, as it matches the (marketed as) powerful alternative of the MacBook Pro.

Who knows? Apple has some amazing designers working for them, so whatever it will look like, it will be sleek and beautiful, just like any other Apple product.
