My eyeliner got wet and won't work. Is there a way to fix it?

It's one of those fancy clinique eyeliner pencils (not liquid liner). It got wet about a week ago when I dropped it in the sink. I tried wiping it off with a tissue. It's dry now, but ever since it got wet last week it won't apply evenly or smoothly anymore. Barely any color goes on. Do I have to throw it out? I'm going to a wedding this weekend and don't have time to get to a dept store to buy a new one...

yikes. those things can be expensive but i wouldn't throw it out just yet

a) does it come with a sharpener? if so, break off the tip and resharpen
b) if you had the time, i'd bring it to the clinique counter and see if they can sharpen it
c) in the past, i've lit the end with a lighter quickly- that seems to melt the tip and makes it work again
