What is the quality of the drinking water in Washington, DC?

I've always been a tap-water kind of guy, but I just was wondering if anyone knew how good the tap water was in Washington?

It's not fatally bad or anything like that, but there is too much chlorine in our water, any pool tester will show you that. It's not as big of a problem until you're in a hot shower inhaling it.. it's fine to drink if you're not sensitive. About ten years ago, there was some concern about lead, but it's mostly okay now. If you have a sensitive system, go with a filter rather than bottled water, as it is often just tap water from another area.
