What's a small, fast document scanner?
I’m looking for something to scan receipts. I needs to be small and very fast. It’d be neat if it were networked, but it doesn’t need to be.

I’d look into OCR, there are programs to do it, here is one for Linux. But I’m fairly sure there are programs for Mac & PC. My boss uses it to scan books.
Here’s cnet’s list of sheet fed scanners.
NEAT Receipts scores a 7.9 of 10. It’s the only sheet fed on their site that’s rated.
this might not be what you’re looking for, but how about a pen scanner?
I ended up getting the Fujitsu ScanSnap (for mac). It’s one of the most brilliant pieces of equipment I’ve ever had. I thought people were being hyperbolic in the Amazon reviews, but it’s really amazing.
Double-sided scanning as fast as sheets feed through a printer. Plus, the OCR is great—you can batch convert all your scans into searchable PDFs and then they’re indexed by spotlight.
