Is my cell phone shutting down my laptop?

Just now, I placed my cell phone next to my laptop so I could see it if it rang (I always keep it on silent).. and almost immediately my laptop died. I restarted, and as an experiment brought the phone back to it. Again it died. Has anyone heard of this happening?

the cell is blue tooth capable.. but I’ve never used it.
