what do girls like about a guy. And what do they see in a guy, are thy your night in shineing armor? ONLY every ones OPINIONS!!!! And if you have a boy friend how does he treat you?
i guess most girls like to be treated nicely and fairly. i dont mind a little push and shove from a guy, personally. as long as i feel beautiful and unique.
My ex -boyfriend was a crappy boyfriend. I can thank him for realizing that I like nice guys. There’s something very attractive about geeks/nerds, too. Intelligence is a turn on, gentlemen.
For me just treating me decently and accepting me for who I am. DON’T TRY TO CHANGE ME if guys do it won’t make me like them better chances are is that I will start to really HATE them for trying to change who I am.
I can sum it up in one word: Adoration.
That encompasses a lot for me; love and respect are the biggies.
Also, under those umbrellas are attention, kindness, buying me presents when he can afford it, taking me out when we have time, compromising, being honest in all things, apologizing when we have a disagreement, even when I’m the one who’s wrong, random acts of caring (such a breakfast in bed), supporting my goals, and being faithful to me.
Show me a genuinely good guy and I’m sure you can find a ton of girls willing to give him a shot.
My message to the good guys: Put yourself out there, make yourself known. We try to take notice, but seriously, where the hell are you?
Ladies: Anyone want to chime in here?
@ Allie- I put myself out there. Maybe it’s just all about the right combination of people. A lot of girls I meet ann’t much better than some guys I meet. It sucks. Some girls arn’t much better than guys. And the ones I find are stuck up with jerks. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right spot. Lol, =)
Teeing off on the answer ‘respect’ – I like a guy who challenges me. I think this answers the question of why so many great girls are with assholes, and vice versa. Some people find dealing with that to be the challenge (no thanks, we have root canal for that). I prefer an intellectual challenge. Or a spiritual one – someone who challenges me to be a “better” person, and to grow toward my potential. I do NOT need to be with someone who challenges my patience, because I don’t have any!
i think respect and honesty are a the top of my list and to realize i am my own person and have my own thoughts and dreams that CAN include them if i am treated as an equal.
In an established relationship, girls usually need to feel cherished. Of course this is after the whole courtship dance is completed, which is pretty darn complex and has to adapt with every step.
@flameboi and ninjaxmarc: To some extent yes, but if overdone it may also leave the girl in question feeling unreal, unseen and invalidated. As well as a lady and a princess, she’s also an extraordinary and ordinary person…..a girl.
I like “like a princess”. I think a lot of guys need a lot more instruction in raising their girl up, then letting her down. I think it’s a Great Answer.
@ninjaxmarc
I didn’t mean any hostility. All I meant is that I know plenty of girls who don’t like the princess metaphor. They think that it’s demeaning. They don’t hear it as “with respect”, but as “dependent on a prince”. But if you were to just say “with respect”, then they would be perfectly happy with that.
Respect is important but usually respect is what MEN need most to believe that someone loves them. Women (in general) need to know that they are cherished. Not that they need to be rescued, but that they have great value, like a precious gem or a master art work. You can’t however, hold something/someone as cherished without respect. Women are a lot more complicated than simply needing respect.
No one impaticular, I am just saying that most men see respect differently than women do. We’re using the same word, but we may have a different perception of how it’s played out.
