I’d kill for the opportunity to…uh…well…exactly who or what has to die? I can’t think of one thing that would wash away the horror I’d feel for destroying an entire universe at the whim of my ego/senses

@Sueanne – well, actually, on second though, I’m not sure. If I’m front of this one person, knowing that if I’d kill that person, everybody else would have a happy life forever, I’m still not sure if I could actually do that. Probably not even if that person consented in it.

I’m assuming that we wouldn’t actually kill anyone for these momentus opportunities, so, with that said, I’d do almost anything to have the chance to attend Duke University’s Med School on a full scholarship.

I hate eggplants, and would willingly kill them all without cause. However, I am still unable to bring myself to kill an eggplant for any one thing. Honestly, what the he’ll is truely worth killing anything for? All things are either available to you or not, and will not ultimately impact your happiness what-so-ever. So, no, there is nothing that I would kill an eggplant to have.

Maverick, please read some of the previous posts in this thread, especially the one about killing ”...to protect my children.”

The question is both rhetorical and whimsical, and is part of the North American language landscape, as far as idioms are concerned.

I wasn’t trying to start any flame wars, nor was I asking folks to publicly admit that they would murder another human being (and under what conditions such would be done).

I was merely being light-hearted, with a dash of humor thrown in, for good measure.

Please don’t take all of my questions so literally, because I’m not THAT kind of man.
