What is characteristic of the best web design in the UK?

The only UK site I can think of offhand is www.boagworld.com. I can't really think of any stand out differences, although I think accessibility laws vary somewhat.

I don't think there is a difference in designing between countries or continents. There are trends styles of web design, most recent is the web 2.0 style. For an example, a company from the UK can design a site for a another company in the US.

What’s probably more interesting, is the difference in webdesign when it comes to countries such as China and Japan, which has other characters, or (do they?). I mean, are they coding websites with those complex characters?
