What is the best way to improve reception on the iPhone?

If you are talking about cell phone reception. It is hit and miss. Check with At&T; coverage maps. See if your location has strong coverage. Also basements, or any building with concreate and steel, like schools and llibraries, generally have worse reception than homes or outdoors.
For a better internet experience on the iphone, find a wireless hot spot. They are lots faster than the EDGE network.

A non-ATT tip, don't cover the black area (this the the main antenna area) on the back of the phone with your hand when talking...it reduces the signal strength by about 10db. Dial *3001#12345#* on the phone to get to the service app to monitor signal strength among other things.
