Screen glitches when opening Digsby on a presario 3218la winXp?

Everytime i open Digsby in my Presario 3218la note, runing winxp sp2 (3 installed) the screen goes black a couple of times and then continues normally. im not worried about, i just want to know why.maybe there’s a way to avoid it.
