Canker sores or cold sores; they are different.

A doc once told me that they’re common in people in their 20’s or so. And that there’s no one specific cause.

Nerves can lead to cankers. Have you had a lot of stress lately?

I was just going to ask this question. I have been on a really good weight control diet for about 4 years. This last week I have been eating out a lot and not being quite so careful. I wonder if I ate something I am alergic to because I have 2. One is high in the roof of my mouth. OUCH!

To get rid of them, ask your dentist to prescribe you some Kenalog, or just wet your finger and put salt on it then on the sore. It will hurt but it will kill the bacteria in the sore and should make it better.

Canker sores are very common. Most people get them at some point, and some people are more likely than others to develop them. That said, there are systemic diseases that are associated with frequent oral ulcers, so, without a complete evaluation, it would be impossible to say definitively that you simply are unlucky to have canker sores all the time. I hesitate to list examples, because then everyone will get all-a-fluther, and I don’t want that. Send me a PM if you want to discuss further.

Try staying away from highly acidic foods for a while til they clear up. Things like oranges and tomatoes will agravate the condition.

I wonder if I’m alergic to nuts.

If that’s the case, Judi, you might want to quit fluther.

Maybe fluther DID cause these canker sores!
