I plan on purchasing a handheld GPS unit this Christmas. It will mainly be used for hiking and geocaching. Does anybody have any experience, tips, or recommendations for me?

I’ve had good luck with Garmin. I’ve got the Etrex Legend CS, and it does everything I need it to and more.

I don’t know of a specific model that would be good, but get a unit that can connect to your computer and receive information for geocaching caches. I think both Garmin and Magellan have units that can do that.
