not a B&B but we stayed at the Santa Catarina hotel right ouside the Roma (?) gate. It is small and sweet. It is also great tp be able to walk into the town of Siena, because there is nothing like that town after the tourists are gone and you can have drinks on the Campo. Also don’t miss dinner at Il Torre, under the tower near the campo. Run by two brothers- simple local real and good. I am Jealous!

There are a few places in that area which are cool. I booked our overnight stays through http://www.holistay.com/italy/ but you could also use http://www.travelwise.com as they also have deals.
