I just realized this question was asked recently...
I read up on those responses, but any more are welcome-- any thoughts on State Farm?
If you are able (ie if you or a parent or grandparent has served in the armed forces, you might inquire into USAA--not only excellent insurance rates on cars, but the service is quite wonderful. I haven't had a claim, so I can't say anything about that. They also have high rates on their top savings account. Worth checking out.
I believe state farm (are they good hands people) well, either them or Allstate really dropped the ball in New Orleans. They failed to pay claims right and left for really absurd reasons, screwing over tons of people who had been paying them for years. Very distrurbing. I wouldn't give them my business if they were the ones involved.
AMICA. friendly, helpful, and better yet they don't raise your rates when others hit you!
I'm going to second the AMICA - of course that's because I have it also - as i suppose above poster does also - :) - but they really are fantastic.
Recently, I was kicked off because i forgot to pay the bill, and when I went to get reinstated, they had to run a check and found i had MANY tickets for speeding, and wouldn't let me on. But being the fantastic company that they are, eventually they were convinced (some time later) by the extensive family history with the company.
any company that listens to what you have to say, consciously thinks about you're point, and makes an intelligent decision based on your individual situation, is alright by me. :)
