Evaluating Vonage. Both my alarm system and Dish DVR need to dial out... and need detect a "real" dial tone. Will I need special equipment? And is it expensive?

I know the Vonage adapter/router provides a phone jack… but that’s no good for devices in other rooms where it’s impractical to run a wire. Would ideally like for the Vonage to power all my home’s existing phone jacks.
