Some of mine:
1. If you did not major in math then you may not know that just as there is a general equation for the solution of second order polynomials, there are general solutions for orders 3 and 4. It is impossible to find a general solution for degree 5 or above.
2. Broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale and cabbage are all variations of the same species.
3. In addition to blocking the sun, trees produce a cooling effect by transpiring large quantities of water through their leaves.
