@emilia_eclaire There’s lots of “amateur sites” that people can sign up to and post pictures of themselves. And sites that offer free memberships to people willing to submit photos of themselves. The sites all have the legal information up saying that you need to either be the person in the pictures and/or have permission of anyone in the photos, but obviously that won’t stop people who want to just post up naked pictures of people out of revenge or just plain jack-assery.
What makes it worse, is that many (like hundreds if not thousands) of amateur sites make up their entire list of content off stuff they have scavenged off the internet from other free sites or pay sites. So a picture posted of someone can literally float around on different sites for years, decades, or who knows how long (the internet is still less than 2 decades old so who knows). The same goes for videos and such.
If you’re considering giving pictures or something to someone I would be ABSOLUTELY certain and think long and hard about the possibility those pictures might end up either on the internet, or at least seen by people OTHER THAN the intended recipient (especially post break up). Not every guy is like me and will erase them at a break up, and even if they’re like me, you never know when something might happen out of their control (like how my computer was stolen the day after I erased them, had it been a day earlier those pictures could be on the net right now or who knows).
