Another hand question: Blue Hands?

So that other question about the hand reminded me… Has anybody ever had a problem with their hands turning blue? It was the weirdest thing, I was out to dinner tonight and I looked down and both my hands were blue! Not dark blue or purple but just kind of a blue tint. And no, it wasn’t the blue jeans I was wearing b/c about half an hour later they were back to normal.

It means you’re evil.
No really, you have poor circulation, talk to your doctor.
You might have Raynaud’s phenomenon. Primary Raynaud’s is a fairly common condition, and is otherwise benign. However, if it persists, you should go see your doctor for a full evaluation to rule out causes of secondary Raynaud’s.

Thanks shilolo and asmonet for the information. I’ll have to mention these things to my doc next time I go in. I didn’t think to mention that I have been having problems with my blood lately. It was told that I was severely anemic in Feb. and am just now beginning to get back up where I am supposed to be.

My hands get cold and blue, but I don’t know if it’s Reynauds… still fun to administer the “chilly death touch” to unsuspecting warm-bloods. :)
Well, they weren’t really cold, just blue. I live in AL, so it was about 75 degrees when I realized that I was transforming into a Smurf.
Raynaud’s can be caused by stress, in addition to cold, FYI.

I’m severely anemic and back in the day my hands would turn a little corpsey, get checked. Take your meds. Seriously.

It could definitely be stress, shilolo, I’ve been studying for a calculus exam all day on top of upcoming finals!

The mysterious case of the blue hands has been solved! The medicine I was on caused my BP to skyrocket and so the BP made my hands have some kind of a spasm (cant remember exact name-Vasor spasm, maybe?) which is why they turned blue. Case closed! Thanks for everybody’s input.
