Has the denial of Medicaid or other public assistance benefits led to the death or injury of anyone?

I’m writing an article that asserts that, if a state or federal agency denies public assistance, it can mean that person faces loss of health, homelessness, or disability. I have found some support for this, but I need more.

Yes. I don’t know where you live (no profile). But, this month a lady died of (breast) cancer after being denied benefits by Medicaid in Washington state. The benefits were approved just bdfore she died. I’ll look for a link later, running late now.
