What is there to do on New Year's Eve in San Francisco?

When we lived in the bay area, we loved going to Pier 39 for New Years if you don’t mind a bit touristy. It was a blast to see two or was it three different fireworks going on over water.

I’ve always wanted to to go Treasure Island next time to see the fireworks. Maybe it is ‘less’ crowded there.

Or find out if Saulisto or Tiberon have fireworks there. Its romantic over there as well. Maybe from there you can see the SF Fireworks?
