Define “crash” are we talking freezing up or shutdown?
What is happening exactly?

Take the battery out and see if the problems persist.

What happens is the computer shuts down without warning. I’ll try running it without the battery, though for some reason I thought you needed the battery in for it to run, even if you were connected to an outlet.
