I need to move a clip of something that I wrote but is now on video (on dvd, professional) to my computer and then upload it to my reel (vimeo--that part I know how to do). How?

I recommend and use handbrake to rip DVDs.

From there you can edit the vid however you want.

For simple conversion I like mpeg Streamlip
(Snow Leopard’s Quicktime X will have super easy conversion, $30 in the fall.)

Converting file types, although I don’t think it has as many options as mpeg or handbrake.
