Where can I find a software synthesizer I can play on my PC keyboard?

I use garageband on my mac and it works great for using my computer keyboard to play a synth. I can’t find anything for windows that does this, however. Help?

you can get ableton, more complex but also more capable, beware it’s not free and you might need to download some plugins or vst’s to get the desired sound.
