in movies you sometimes see in the back room of a casino or other place where they handle a lot of money the workers will wear green translucent visors. why?

The green visor was originally required by money handlers to protect their eyes from the daily strain of incandescent lights. Later it became associated with the old time casinos, and is now used in the entertainment industry, including casinos as part of the decor.
