I could with my ipod mini through the xbox but how can i get my second gen ipod touch to play through?

I would assume that you could just connect to the xbox via USB cable – or if you have a new TV that has a USB input, that would likely work as well.

i tried using it the way i used my mini but it wouldnt show up as a usb device.

The way things are stored on the iPod touch prevent it from being accessed by the 360. If you have a PS3, I would try it, that may work, it may not. There may be a firmware update in the future that allows for this, but I highly doubt it. Sorry!
