What pattern (if any) do the flashing lights on the back of an ASUS G50 laptop follow?

Do they just flash randomly?
Do they follow music?
Can I program them?

The are supposed to flash along with games that you play, I guess.
“The G50 is the ultimate gaming rig. Equipped with a 16:10 15.4” display, pulsing LEDs that react to gameplay…” is a quote from a Microsoft page. So they may pulse to sound? Making music the most likely reason, or maybe any sound in general. In terms of programming them? Not heard of it.
