Does any one have suggestions for New Years Eve celebrations in the Bay Area..?

I feel like there has to be something in between a huge club party at $100-a-ticket, and a party at someone's apt. I want cheap and swanky. Any ideas?

Hmmm. First of all, while you no doubt wanted to know for 2006/2007 New Year’s Eve, you’re in luck as the 2009/2010 is fast approaching!

For about half as much as a club, I believe you could go to the Fireworks over the Embarcadero which take place at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Affordable? Maybe. Swanky? Probably.
