Who considers Newsweek to be a "liberal" magazine?

I wouldn't categorize it that way. Newsweek and Time are two of the most mainstream magazines out there. I'd say it's middle-of-the-road

liberal magazines would be Utne, Mother Jones, Harpers, the New Yorker, American Prospect, etc.

here's my take: any magazine that counts george will as one of its regular contributors is NOT LIBERAL. that's newsweek. they get middle-of-the-road contributors on the center left and center right to comment. republicans that are fiscal conservatives but don't buy into the religious right b.s. liberals that like protecting the environment but dislike labor unions. that's who writes newsweek.

I would consider Newsweek to be middle of the road for a major U.S. news magazine, which then places it, because of an overall bias in that media form, somewhat left of center politically.
