How well does Sprint's "Phone-as-modem" work?
How well does using the BlackBerry Curve work as a laptop modem through a USB tether on Sprint’s “Phone-as-modem” service?
How fast is it and would one be able to view streaming videos?
(Sorry if this seems Google-able to some, but I’ve already tried and only found reviews from 2005–2006. I’m hoping the service has improved since then.)

Depends on your city. Obviously with EVDO service, its much better than the old CDMA RTTx1 service. I can’t comment on the Curve specifically, but my (discontinued) Samsung M610 works wonderfully with my Mac, either via Bluetooth or USB cable. I’d say on average, expect 500Kbps download.
Can’t say I’ve tried streaming live video, but YouTube and CNN video play just fine.
Thanks gatekeeper, just the kind of answer I was looking for.
I will use this in New York City, don’t think there will be any problems there.
