What application can I download to create GIF animated files in a Mac?

I have a bunch of pictures I want to combine together to make an animated gif. I would like to know what application I can use to do this in a mac. I hope it’s not as complicated as getting/using photoshop. Something basic and simple will do.

GIMP or Photoshop, I believe After Effects lets you export to animated .gif too.

I second both answers. GIMP if you don’t want to spend money, Photoshop (CS3–4) if you want a more comprehensive program.
