Why can't my computer read my SDHC card?

i bought a 4gb micro sdhc card (with sd adapter) and it works great in my phone. but neither one of my two computers can read it (i get an I/O error)
any help?

Does your computer support High Capacity (HC) cards? If not then find a cable for your phone, put the card in the phone and use the phone as a flash mem. drive.

yeah that’s what i thought the problem might be (computer doesn’t support hc cards).
