Is it nook or Nook?

I’m talking about the Barnes & Noble Nook e-book reader. Normally I would think the N would be capatalized but all the ads and even the fine print use nook with a lower case n. Just randomly wondering what the proper gramatical use is. Is it a capital N because it’s a proper noun or is it a lower case n because the company that made it said so?

It is a brand name, and those are designed by advertising executives with help from focus groups. You will notice the “i” in iPhone and iPod.

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities Eh. I happen to think the Nook is a superior device and quite different from the Kindle.

And before the Kindle was a twinkle in Amazon’s eye, Sony was making their own wonderful Reader (which I happen to own).
