How I can block the RFID signal?

I’ve recently ordered a new passport because my old one expired. However, because of EU requirements, the passport now contains an RFID chip. I don’t like the idea of data on this cheap being requested without my knowing, so I would like to know if there is a way to block the signal. I wouldn’t even mind wrapping it in aluminium foil if that helps :P
