forward your hotmail to an account that has pop or imap email access. Gmail and yahoo both support pop for free.

Or just get a gmail account. Hotmail had been bothering me for ages, and when they switched it to the dumb new look (in the typical Vista style) I couldn’t stand it anymore, and moved to Gmail. It works fine with Mail and even has instructions on how to set up the IMAP settings you will need to get it working on your iPod Touch.
