coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde is a must! and find out if the Rebirth Brass Band is playing anywhere while you're there--they are great.

rebirth plays every tuesday night at the maple leaf. go down to frenchmen street (in the marigny) any night of the week for live muisc. there are some famous barbeque joints in all the tourist guides.
