What are some good crafts to make for a fundraiser?

Asked by Qwertymuffin411 (550points) February 17th, 2010

I need some fundraising ideas, specifically on crafts that people would actually want to buy. Thanks!

I, for one, like to buy decorated pots for plants. I hate doing artsy stuff but I like to have my plants in cool pots so I buy them when I find them.

Also, I collect old windows. Mostly I like leaded glass (not stained glass mind you) windows that still have all of the old hardware. But lately I have been seeing regular wood framed windows that are fairly old but not worth much that have been painted. For example, the glass and wood might show flowers in a field and the cool thing is you can hang the window as a partiion so you can see both side of the art. Or one side can be slightly different and incorporate the art that is on the glass. In other words, the wood on opposite sides is painted different but each side shares what is painted on the glass. I’ll look for examples or pm me and I can tell you more.

Things for the garden are always popular, such as teacup bird feeders or flowerpot man.

I like to buy two things – good food and potted plants, particularly edible ones.

You can make picture frames/accessory holders – click here and here for some ideas.
