What is jailbreak

I hear all these people talking about jailbreak for the iPhone and touch what does it do?

It allows you to install third-party applications on your iPhone/Touch. This will be officially supported by Apple in about four months. If you are alright with what you have now I would just wait.

I didn’t find many of the apps that can be installed with Jailbreaking that useful. It wasn’t really worth all of the trouble.

ha ha I gave u a “great question” point as a mistake. All b/c of this iPod touch. Make sure u know where ur touching!!

just a way to hack an iPod touch or iPhone.

jailbreaking an iphone or ipod touch allows you to install applications on it that are not part of the itunes app store. Apple frowns on this. But there are apps such as Google Voice Mobile that the only way you can get them is on a jailbroken iphone or ipod touch, since Apple kicked it out of the App Store. Eventually, Apple may be forced to open up the iPhone and iPod Touch, but that isn’t the story today.

Another common reason people jail break their iphone is to be able to get apps that’s not approved by Apple, such as being able to tether their iphone (use the iPhone’s 3G network to share network with your laptop).
