  I think an update would be great too! This topic came up at a really good time, I have to write an ethics paper on a moral issue and I chose to write something along these lines as my case study..so ending the paper with what choice you made would be great!

  @Likeradar no she has been off the lease since the beginning of May and has had a new apartment since. We’ve been saying the same thing we aren’t free storage! haha

  Why do you, or why do you not give money to street beggars?

  I have to agree with most of the people ^ above. I usually do not give them money. I have given them food that I have on me I know I’m not going to eat. I’ve even spoken to some of them. My bf will give them money only if they tell him an interesting life story about where they have been or how they got where they are today. I sometimes consider it if they look like they are reallllly sick and malnourished, but for the most part living in a bigger city, I see the same ones on the same corners, trying the same lines, and it is almost repulsive. One time I was walking and read this guys sign that read: “My buddy left with my girl, need money to get back home.” as I passed him though he looked at me and said “I just need money to get to a festival down in Virginia. hahaha sorry noooo!

  wow..talk about some deep moral stuff…I would sit down with your friend and explain to him that there are other options than having someone killed. If they want to be together it’s not going to help when he hires someone, and then spends the rest of his life in prison. Also explain you now feel involved since he has laid this information on you. I’m not totally positive, but if he would get caught and they find out you knew also, you could be considered an accomplice or accessory. Tell him to contact the cops, and explain that she is being abused. Maybe they can handle the situation and get the wife out of there.
