  Any good French microblog out there ?

  I’m confused. What exactly do you call a “French microblog”? Can’t you just subscribe to French speaking people on Twitter, Plurk, Friendfeed et al? What exactly are you looking for?

  Does anybody know any good japanese hip hop/rap music?

  I like the music of Orange Range and Amuro Namie. Maximum The Hormone is probably my favorite japanese band at the moment, but their music is rather a mix of hip-hop and metal. Worth checking out, anyway.

  Is Twitter any good? Should I em.. Tweet? What do you think about twitter?

  Twitter is just a tool, a platform. It’s only as good as what you use it for. I use it to keep touch with my real-life friends, but also to get local news and info from people in my area. I also use it to meet new persons sharing my interests and discuss certain topics with random people. You can find tons of information about almost any subject on Twitter. That’s why more and more people use Twitter’s search rather than Google’s search to get opinion and real-time information. By the way, I’m @brome on Twitter, if anyone wants to follow me.

  Do you like any songs in a foreign language you don't understand (care to name some)?

  I listen to many Japanese artists (Tommy Heavenly6, Polysics, Mad Capsule Markets, Utada Hikaru, Sakamoto Maaya, Origa, Kitade Nana, Gackt to name a few) and occasionally to Indian, Korean and Russian music, as well as Björk’s early work in Icelandic.

  Why in french is a live chicken called "un poule" and a chicken that you eta called "un poulet"?

  “Poule” is a specific word for the female animal (a hen if you prefer). “Coq” is the name for the male. And “poulet” is a generic term, more often used when speaking of the meat of the animal destined for food, since it’s hard to tell its sex once it’s cooked and in your plate. Fun trivia: “poulets” is also the word that French use for “cops”.
