Bravo, good sir. Your theory is sound. It really should be beside it’s counterpart, the theory of relativity, in every science book in the nation.

My single complaint is that there is no part where being tall is mentioned. I’ve seen several examples of otherwise high ranking ladder participants being knocked across ladders to the friends ladder simply because they are short.

I suppose that this could be summed up in the money and power section of your pie chart

(if you happen to subscribe to the theory that
‘height + presence + money + ambition = power’).

I think the use of this simple equation could simplify the power section of the pie chart. This also beggars the question of whether height should be in the physical attraction section of the pie chart. My stance is no. The girl always seems to want a guy that is at least as tall as she is. It’s obviously a power issue and not an issue of attractiveness.

If I write out my formula and describe it, would I have a chance of your inclusion on the site? I would explain with grace and civility and would be open to any edits of course.

  @mollykm I love that idea! I agree that it would end up sorta like Halloween (my birthday is October 6th so it might be too close), but that’s a rad idea. And everyone could play along, because who didn’t have an amazing career aspiration as an 8-year-old?! @sariperana OMG, my roommate and I totally tossed that idea around! @bumwithablackberry Hopefully it will be a “No Throwing Up” party without me having to designate it as such… @augustlan Yes, that’s actually one of the frontrunners in terms of ideas that I came up with on my own. I was thinking of like a “recession” themed party—wear a costume inspired by this recession, or the last one. So that would probably result in a lot of flapper-ish costumes. Thanks all!

  How do I motivate myself to do work I really do not want to do?

  Someone told me about a trick that’s supposed to help you get over slump of non-working. I forget the exact proportions, but it’s something like 50 minutes on, 12 minutes off. So, set an alarm and force yourself to work for 50 minutes, then give yourself a 12-minute break. Just adjust the numbers accordingly for you so that it’s actually doable. Maybe 45/10 or 35/5.

  Would you tell/ have you told your daughter about masturbation?

  I agree with @jeanna. I would want my daughter to know that it’s okay early on. I think not talking about it is what makes it seem illicit and wrong. And that creates a guilty, shameful feeling about something that shouldn’t be thought of as such. I certainly never would have talked to my parents about it or asked about it, and they were great parents. They were the adults and I was the confused teen—in heinsight I wish they had brought it up. It might be something that young boys talk about with each other, but I NEVER discussed this with a girlfriend until I was maybe in college. It wasn’t until my older sister told me, “You should masturbate so you know what you like” that I realized I HAD been masturbating for several years. I was sixteen at the time and only then did I realize that that naughty thing I was guilt-stricken about was actually totally normal and okay.

  Can someone please explain pink camoflauge to me?

  On the note of seeing civilians in armed forces gear, when I was a lifeguard a lot of teenyboppers thought it was oh-so-cool to wear those “Abercrombie Lifeguard” shirts and the like to the pool. Especially the ones with the big red cross on the front…Until someone approached them for a band-aid, or worse, CPR! So maybe the pink camoflauge is a way to say, “It’s like I’m wearing army gear, but at the same time it’s totally obvious that I’m not actually in the army!”

  What to do with a toilet-brush when moving into a new appartment?

  Yes, it’s only $4, but if we all throw out our toilet brushes every time we move, think of all the toilet brushes that are out there in landfills! Last time I checked, they’re not exactly biodegradable. IMHO, I think we’ve developed a very “disposable” mindset as a society, which isn’t going to help in the long run. Unless the toilet brush is really no longer capable of doing its duty (pun intended) as a cleaning tool, I’d say wrap the top in a piece of plastic wrap with a rubber band or twist tie, throw it in a plastic bag, and move it to your new place.
