In the early days of my vegetarianism it was difficult to make my mother-in-law understand that vegetarians don’t eat meat. I remember her telling us she was fixing something for dinner that I could eat. It was baked chicken. I guess she thought that since it was baked and not fried that I would eat it. Anther time, after my wife explained that I don’t eat any kind of animal she had us over and made some pasta dish with “just a little bit of chicken in it because your a vegetarian.” And she’s a fairly bright person.
