  Is rape a more severe crime than murder?

  @jonsblond I agree with you that being raped is NEVER going to be easy to deal with and I am glad you mentioned the trust issue because although my dad would never do anything to hurt me it took me a bloody long time before I could trust any man and even now there are only three men in the world that I trust not to put me through that again. It doesn’t matter who it was that committed this hideous crime, it affected my relationships with everyone around me.

  Did you become more prejudice as you got older?

  I was raised by parents that are very accepting of everyone and have had experiences with people of all walks of life and so I was never exposed to too many prejudices as a kid. My grandparents would (and sometimes still do) sometimes say things that, today, would be taken as racism and homophobia but that was definately down to ignorance rather than hatred. My grandfather accepts everybody for who they are but will often refer to them using a derogatory term (I have often heard him refer to a black person as a “darky” for example. Only two days ago he was telling me how much he liked “that darky singer off the TV”!) because he doesn’t realise that it is offensive. Sometimes he makes me cringe but because I know he means well I do not consider him to be racist. I don’t think I have changed to much as I have gotten older. I have never had a reason to. I tend to be judgemental of people but this never has anything to do with skin colour, religion, sexuality etc I just let me first impression of someone’s personality determine how I feel about them straight away. I really need to do something about this because usually it is a fault with me and not the other person.

  Significant others past and present, what one band (or musician) reminds you of them?

  Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, the first Pussycat Dolls album and some classical music/opera all remind me of my SO (basically because they’re the only ones that we actually have a similar opinion on). He does a funny impression of Barry White which makes me giggle so everytime I hear Barry White on the radio I think of my SO and there are a few songs that remind me of him basically because of times I have been with him when the song was playing although there are no real stories to go with those times.

  @jonsblond Who said anything about certain rapes being worse than others? I mentioned that I am glad that it wasn’t my father who hurt me in such a way but that doesn’t mean that I am excusing what my abuser did to me because “at least he wasn’t my father” if that’s what you think. I can see what @debzilla means because, if it was my father (who I think the absolute world of) it would have been even harder for me to accpet and deal with. That’s all.

  Are you willing to admit to your mistakes (see details)

  Sure: Aged 17, one week after getting my lisence I failed to stop when I policeman told me too. He was only doing routine checks in the middle of a busy road (he was not in his car while flagging people down) and I drove straight past him. I was confused about what he was asking me to do and I panicked. He had to get in his care with his sirens on to get me to stop. Luckily he was very understanding, I told him about my misunderstanding and how I had only been driving a week and he laughed and told me to have a good evening. Aged 18, I was pulling out of a parking space and I misjudged how much romm was between me and the car in front. I scarped the bumper and the tiniest scratch cost me £200 to repair. Aged 19, I wrote off my beloved little car (A white Rover Metro called Dolly) after skidding on some crap that had fallen of the back of a tractor. My broher (who was passenger) and I were fine thankfully and the policeman who attended the scene said that he could see that I wasn’t driving to fast or erratically and that it “could’ve happened to anyone” (I later found out that I couldv’e claimed compensation). My poor Dolly was no more. Aged 22, I was pulled over by a policewoman for driving a little too fast. No fine or anything just a warning to slow it down a bit. Aged 23, pulled over by a policeman for having a broken headlight. He checked the car to find that I was a week over my MOT date. I was fined £60. touch wood I think that’s about it.
