  For those who are not Americans: how true do you find the "ugly American" stereotype to be?

  @galileogirl, really? i think its the opposite… i notice very often Americans being annoyed by foreigners who don’t know all of our customs or language- and they end up getting short tempered with the foreigners… however in many foreign nations juyst a small attempt at following local customs or attempting local language will earn us Americans a lot of respect and street cred. Its obviously not universal though. I am embarking on a European road trip in April, spending time in 10 countries…i’ll let you all know how it goes.

  When it comes to president-elect Obama choosing his new cabinet members, is it acceptable for a democrat to choose republicans to be part of his team or would this be frowned upon or taboo?

  it’s actually expected that Obama will put one republican in his cabinet. It will show his dedication to bipartisanship. It is possible that it may be a former cabinet member from a previous administration as well. Check out any of the articles from the new York times the past week on speculation towards the Obama cabinet.

  How do you go "back" to sleep?

  I am a total insomniac Gail please cover your ears. (or eyes). I rub one out or get the lady next to me to help in a similar fashion. It pits me right out. I also like ambient noise like a fan or mellow music on the lowest setting.
