Hmm… a big empty space to fill. It’s like starting a new story. Except I suppose I ought to stick to the facts on this one.
Well, I like reading, writing, the outdoors, and baking. I grew up in Girl Guides and switched to Scouts when I was older. I went to university for two years but dropped out with debt from student loans. I have a few family members I’m close to (and more that I’m not), and a long-distance boyfriend who is an absolute sweetheart.
I consider myself fairly creative. I write (just for myself), make YouTube videos occasionally, and bake. I even took a few classes in cake decorating. I don’t bake as often now as I used to. I can’t cook, and when I was in university I would run baked goods over to my friends’ place in exchange for dinner. I got a hot meal, and they got dessert. Now I’m back in my hometown with fewer friends around and I can’t (or at least shouldn’t) eat a whole cake on my own, so baking doesn’t happen every week like it used to.
I really enjoyed Girl Guides, and if I can get a job that will give me weekends off, I want to be a leader in Scouting. I love camping, hiking, and just about anything to do with the great outdoors.
My not-so-secret ambition is to write (and sell) a screenplay. Most people laugh this off as an unrealistic dream. That combined with my own doubts and insecurities mean that it is still not even half-written.
One of the things people like least about me is that I call it like I see it. I’m painfully honest and blunt, I don’t usually tiptoe around people’s feelings, and I have a very hard time dealing with stupid people.
My favourite holiday is Hallowe’en. Yes, I spell it with an apostrophe, and auto-correct will never change that. It’s the one day of the year when you can dress up as anything at all, get thoroughly spooked, and pig out on all the candy you want. In recent years I’ve volunteered at a haunted maze with other members of Scouting, and had a ton of fun.
Huh. That was a lot more than I was planning to write. And my favourite author is Douglas Adams.
