OMG! I'm watching "Men In Black" on TV and realize that the guy who plays the farmer I KNOW!

FYI, Poppet – here is what I wrote to Christian yesterday. I thought you would want to see it, since I mentioned you:
======================
Good Morning, Christian.
I glanced at your message last night, but I needed some time to look around and assess the damage. It’s pretty clear the community has been rocked by the events of the last 24 hours, and I’m saddened by some of the actions that have been taken.
As you may know, I have been a high school teacher. I’ve commented on a couple of discussion boards about how the situation in the community has begun to resemble a classroom full of adolescents that is out of control. This happens when discipline is lax or non-apparent, as has been the case with Askville. A few unruly individuals break the rules and appear to get away with it. In time, this encourages others to do the same, and ultimately, even the normally best-behaved students begin to act out. Paradoxically, this behavior is a plea for the teacher to take control. That’s what you saw in the run-up to yesterday’s events.
I cannot know everything that’s been done by every individual who was suspended. However, I do feel that some of the people involved were merely acting out of frustration – a lot of pent-up frustration – with the absence of governance that the community has perceived. I can’t think of anyone who cares more about this community, or has tried harder to restore decorum here, than Poppet. To see her name among those of the fallen truly saddens me.
I see from the boards that a number of individuals here have decided to voluntarily suspend themselves in support of their friends. While I do not usually resort to such gestures, I’m afraid that in this case, I am compelled to join them. I will be signing in to vote and check my PMs, but I will not answer questions or participate in discussion boards until the suspensions are over. I will be happy to discuss the new community rules with you at that time.
Sincerely,
Ichy
Either there are two of them, or Layla was RaggedyMe all along. Screw it, let ‘em ban me, I’m taking no prisoners.
