  How can I send a fax with my mac?

  In my understanding, you cannot just set your prefs to ‘fax’ without a modem. The newest Mac Intel machines do NOT have an internal modem, therefore you’d need to purchase an external modem before you’re going to do any faxing. The other way is to find some kind of service on the internet that will allow you to send and receive faxes, and that is likely to be free. (other than your cost of connection). However, I will add a question to my answer: I came here looking for software that I heard can be installed on a Mac and allow you to fax using your internet connection without having to use some kind of ‘on-line’ service. Anyone ever hear of such a thing?
