  Ever been to a city and thought to yourself "this is where I belong"?

  Many places in Colorado. I just feel like I can breathe there, and the first time I ever visited I felt like I was home. It was an emotional epiphany, I’d never felt that exact way about a place before. I’ve been a bit of a gypsy for a few years and it’s finally time to settle down for at least a while I’m relocating there in two weeks! yayyy!!!

  How is your geography knowledge? Were you taught it in school?

  My memory of geography I learned in Highschool is embarassingly nonexistant. I’m not sure if I didn’t retain it because of lack of interest at the time or what… I do have a pretty good handle on The United States now only because I have traveled within the states quite extensively. As others mentioned, I am very good at navigating while traveling. I am most excited when going to places I’ve never been. I am much more likely to adventure to a place I’ve never been, rather than read about a place (and keep my interest). Who knows, but I tend to feel bad about how poor my knowledge-base of world geography is. I feel it’s definately, exincusabley bad. Yet my sense of adventure is stronger than most, so hey it evens out :)

  I'm trying to get from Kansas City to the Bay Area (one-way) and not finding a decently-priced flight at the right time. Where else can I look?

  For flights i always use sidestep.com .. It’s very user friendly and compares several sites at once. As well, Amtrak can be a very nice option at times. It is also WAY more enjoyable than flying. I’m not sure if the tracks run the way you’d like to go off the top of my head, but their website is www.amtrak.com Good Luck to you! I understand what a nightmare trying to find cheap fair can be.

  Is there a website for roadtrip ideas?

  Hey, if it was me… i’d go to jambase.com (since most of my roadtrips have always focused around seeing somesort of music at some point). I’ve always planned trips around shows i want to see, and then filled in the blanks depending on where we’d be driving through. I’d also leave room in your itinerary for lots of wiggle room. Some of the funnest times I’ve had on roadtrips have been at random spots you stumble upon along the way, and are not well advertised or touristy. I’ve traveled the Nation a few times over with only an atlas and good friends. Rest assured that all you need is an adventurous, positive attitude and traveling buddies you can trust. Also- Take advantage of KOA!!
