Around midnight I got to thinking. Why couldn’t I use a remote server to get Google search results and strip out all the bullshit. Like the cookies and tracking. And the ads…

My initial though was use cURL and use nokigiri to parse the results. Apparently google doesn’t like this and actively checks for it.

So plan B… Use the google search api. Unfortunately it only returns the top 8 results. Then I thought that I barely ever look further than that without refining my search.

So after about 10 hours of work we have…

No cookies and no tracking. Totally rough but I was drunk when I wrote it.
