I am a widow, mother of four grown children (2 girls, 2 boys.) I have a British Shorthair cat. I work in the office of a high school. I like to travel, camp, ride horses, fish, cook, garden and have family parties.

Re: your comment of the HOA question – In areas that don’t have an HOA you nearly always have CC&R, which is Conditions, Covenants and Restrictions that are enforced by the local government, either town or county. In the event there are no CC&R, you still have the zoning restrictions that can address the issues you mentioned.

Regarding your answer:
I have never actually watched the Sopranos, but I am beginning to believe, especially after the feedback I’ve gotten here, that someone as set in their ways as she is, cannot change. Therefore, the only changing will be me. We’ve researched the assisted living situation and none of us can afford the cost. The only thing I can do is overcome my own frustrations by realizing this is a situation that I cannot change and accept there is nothing I can do to improve it. That in itself takes off a load of guilt I have been struggling with. Thanks!
